In what format should the text be sent for translation?
In most cases, the text for translation should be sent as a Word document or similar, as an email attachment. You can also send the text for translation as PDF, image (jpg), scan… Where necessary, e.g. with some certified translations, you can send or personally bring the physical document.
How is the price of the service determined?
The price of the standard page is calculated on the basis of the minimum unit of calculation or one standard page containing 1500 characters with spaces, and depends on the language being translated, technical field, deadline, additional services, etc.
Is the translated text proofread?
Translations without proofreading are cheaper than those that are proofread, but such unverified written translations should generally be used only for internal or personal use, and by no means for publication or as official documents. Proofreading of translation, which is essentially an additional stylistic and grammatical check, ensures that the translation is of premium quality. Since translation is not the same as proofreading, only a combination of these two procedures produces top quality translations.
What is written translation?
This is the written transmission of a message from one language to another. Many assume that translation is simple and comes down to replacing each word with a suitable word in a different language. However, translation is a much more demanding skill. To translate only one phrase or sentence, the translator must understand the meaning, decide how to transfer that meaning to a foreign language, choose the appropriate terminology of the target language, fully understand the grammatical system of the original language and translate it into the grammatical system of the target language. Many words do not have a suitable equivalent in another language. Some phrases, if translated word for word, in another language will not make sense or may mean something completely different.
What is consecutive interpreting?
The speaker presents his or her presentation, and after a few sentences or minutes of speech he or she pauses, and then the interpreter transfers the meaning to another language. Depending on the complexity of the speech, breaks are made after half a minute, one minute, or even after 5-7 minutes.
